Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: 1 May 2025 · Last Updated: 1 May 2025

1. About Privio Health

Privio Health ("we", "us", "our", "the Platform") is a digital health technology platform operated through www.priviohealth.co.in. We provide a technology-enabled service that connects individuals ("Users", "you") with independent, licensed medical professionals for remote teleconsultations.

Important: Privio Health is a technology intermediary, not a medical provider. We do not practice medicine. All medical advice, diagnoses, and prescriptions are provided solely by the independent licensed doctors on our platform, who are registered with the National Medical Commission (NMC) of India.

By using our website or services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions in full.

2. Eligibility

To use our services, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be located in India at the time of consultation
  • Provide accurate and truthful information about your symptoms and health history
  • Have a valid mobile number for communication

3. Nature of Service

3.1 What We Provide

  • An online symptom assessment questionnaire to help triage your condition
  • Connection to a licensed doctor for a teleconsultation
  • Facilitation of digital prescription delivery
  • Follow-up care reminders

3.2 What We Do Not Provide

  • We do not provide emergency medical services
  • We do not provide diagnoses — only the licensed doctor does
  • We do not replace in-person medical care where it is necessary

3.3 Medication Assistance (Optional)

Following your consultation, if you wish to order your prescribed medication, we can assist in facilitating that upon your explicit request. This is entirely optional. You are free to purchase your prescribed medication from any pharmacy of your choice. We do not automatically enrol you into any medicine delivery or pharmacy service.

3.4 Symptom Assessment Tool

The symptom questionnaire on our platform is a triage tool only. It is designed to assess the likely nature of your condition and connect you with the right doctor. It is not a diagnostic tool and does not constitute medical advice. The results should not be relied upon as a substitute for a proper medical consultation.

4. Teleconsultation

4.1 How Consultations Work

Once you submit your symptom assessment and confirm your booking, our team will contact you via WhatsApp or phone to schedule your consultation. We will send you a secure consultation link (via Google Meet or a platform-provided link). Your personal and health information remains with Privio Health at all times. We do not pass your contact details or health data directly to the doctor — the consultation is coordinated entirely through us.

4.2 Doctor Independence

All doctors on the Privio Health platform are independent licensed practitioners registered with the National Medical Commission (NMC) of India. They exercise their own independent medical judgment. Privio Health does not influence, direct, or control the medical decisions made by doctors during consultations.

4.3 Telemedicine Guidelines Compliance

All consultations conducted through our platform comply with the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020 issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

4.4 Prescription Validity

Prescriptions issued by doctors through our platform are valid digital prescriptions under applicable Indian law. Each prescription will carry the doctor's name, NMC registration number, date, and your details. Prescriptions will be sent to you directly via WhatsApp or email.

4.5 Limitations of Teleconsultation

Teleconsultation is not appropriate for all medical conditions. If at any point the doctor determines that your condition requires in-person examination, you will be advised accordingly. You agree to follow such advice.

5. Emergency Situations

Our platform is not an emergency service. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please immediately:

  • Call 108 (National Emergency Ambulance Service)
  • Visit your nearest hospital emergency department

Do not use this platform to seek help in a medical emergency.

6. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide complete, accurate, and truthful information about your symptoms and medical history
  • Not misuse the platform to obtain prescriptions for controlled or prohibited substances
  • Not share your account or prescription with any other person
  • Use the service only for personal, non-commercial purposes
  • Follow up with an in-person doctor if advised to do so
  • Not hold Privio Health liable for outcomes resulting from inaccurate information provided by you

7. Payments and Refunds

7.1 Consultation Fee

A consultation fee is charged for each teleconsultation. The applicable fee will be displayed clearly before you confirm your booking.

7.2 Payment

Payment must be made in full before or at the time of consultation. We accept UPI, debit/credit cards, and net banking through our payment partners.

7.3 Refund Policy

  • If a consultation does not take place due to doctor unavailability, a full refund will be processed within 5–7 working days
  • If you cancel more than 2 hours before your scheduled consultation, a full refund will be issued
  • If you cancel less than 2 hours before your consultation or do not show up, no refund will be issued
  • Refunds for completed consultations will not be provided except in cases of proven platform error

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Indian law:

  • Privio Health is not liable for any medical outcome, diagnosis, treatment decision, or prescription issued by doctors on our platform
  • Privio Health is not liable for any adverse reaction to medication prescribed by a doctor through our platform
  • Privio Health is not liable for any loss arising from your reliance on the symptom assessment tool
  • Our total liability to you in any circumstance shall not exceed the consultation fee paid by you for the relevant session
