We started with a simple observation
In India, over 11 million people are living with piles right now. That is not a small number. That is your colleague sitting across from you. Your neighbour. Someone in your family. Maybe you. And yet, almost nobody talks about it.
Studies suggest that nearly 1 in 3 people will experience piles at some point in their life. But walk into any hospital, any clinic, any waiting room — and you will not find them there. Because 80% of people who have piles never see a doctor. Not because they do not want help. But because the thought of sitting in a waiting room, explaining their symptoms to a stranger face to face, being examined — it feels unbearable.
So they Google it at 2am. They buy creams from the pharmacy and hope it goes away. They wait. And by the time embarrassment loses to pain, what could have been treated in two weeks has become something that requires surgery.
Mohammed Askar, the founder of PriVio Health, is from Chennai. He saw this happen one too many times — people quietly suffering, avoiding the one thing that could actually help them, simply because the system made it feel awkward to ask. So he asked himself one question: what if it did not have to be awkward at all?
Why we built PriVio Health
We built PriVio Health for the person who has been Googling symptoms for three months but has not spoken to a single doctor. For the person who cancels their hospital appointment the morning of because they cannot face the waiting room. For the person who does not know whether what they have is serious or not — and is too embarrassed to find out.
Our platform does something no hospital waiting room can. It meets you exactly where you are — privately, quietly, on your terms. You start by answering a few simple questions about your symptoms. Our assessment tool tells you what stage you are likely at and what it means for you. No jargon. No alarm. Just clarity. Because most cases of piles do not require surgery — especially when caught early.
Then, if you choose to speak to a doctor, you book a consultation — voice or video, whichever you are more comfortable with. There is no hospital. No waiting room. No one you know will see you walk in. Just you and a licensed doctor, on a call, from wherever you are.
Our doctors
Every doctor on PriVio Health is an independent, licensed practitioner registered with the National Medical Commission (NMC) of India. They practise with their own independent medical judgment, in compliance with the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020. You'll always see their name and registration number on your digital prescription.
Our doctor is also certified by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) — the apex statutory body governing Ayurvedic practice in India. This brings a holistic, integrative perspective to colorectal and piles care, combining the best of modern telemedicine with trusted Ayurvedic expertise.
Our commitment to your privacy
Every piece of data you share with us is encrypted and stays with us. We never share your details with anyone without your explicit consent. All consultations are one-on-one with NMC-registered doctors — no waiting rooms, no third parties, no exposure. What you tell us stays with us. This is healthcare the way it should have always been: private, honest, on your side.
